500kg Ice Machine

R62 000,00

The 500kg Ice Machine is built for high-demand environments such as large restaurants, butcheries, cafés and event kitchens. With powerful cooling performance and a heavy-duty internal compressor, it produces large quantities of clean, clear ice while maintaining energy efficiency.

Its robust stainless steel body and insulated storage bin provide durability and temperature retention for continuous commercial use.

Description

1. Capacity

  • Ice production: approx. 500 kg per 24 hours
    • Rated at standard test conditions (about 20–25 °C ambient, 10–15 °C inlet water)
  • Ice storage bin:
    • If integrated: typically 150–250 kg
    • Many 500 kg systems are modular head + separate bin (size of bin is chosen by you)

2. Ice Type (specify when you order)

Common options:

  • Cube ice (full/half dice) – bars, restaurants, hotels
    • Typical cube size example: ~22 × 22 × 22 mm (varies by brand)
  • Bullet / hollow ice – general foodservice
  • Flake ice – fish, meat, bakery, medical
  • Nugget / pellet ice – beverages, healthcare

Capacity and power can differ slightly by ice type (flake & nugget machines often use a bit more power).

3. Operating Conditions

  • Standard rating conditions:
    • Ambient: ~21–25 °C
    • Inlet water: ~10–15 °C
  • In hotter kitchens/rooms (30–35 °C) and with warmer water, expect 20–40% lower real output unless sized accordingly.

4. Refrigeration System

  • Refrigerant: typically R404A or R290 (or alternative as per local regulations)
  • Cooling method:
    • Air‑cooled condenser (most common), or
    • Water‑cooled or remote condenser (for hot/poorly ventilated rooms)
  • Compressor:
    • Hermetic or semi‑hermetic compressor, approx. 2.0–4.0 kW input, depending on design and refrigerant

5. Electrical

  • Power supply (typical):
    • 380–415 V / 50 Hz, 3‑phase (most 500 kg units)
    • Some regions: 220–240 V 3‑phase, or 208–230 V 3‑phase 60 Hz
  • Total power input: approx. 2.5–5.0 kW
    • Varies with ice type, condenser type (air vs water), and efficiency
  • Controls:
    • On/Off
    • Automatic bin‑full shutoff
    • Indicator lights / basic display (Power / Making / Bin full / Fault)

6. Water Requirements

  • Water inlet:
    • Cold water line, typically ½” or ¾” connection
  • Water pressure: usually 0.1–0.6 MPa (1–6 bar)
  • Drain:
    • ¾” or 1″ gravity drain from machine and/or bin
    • Unit must be placed higher than drain outlet or use a drain pump

7. Construction

  • Cabinet: Stainless steel exterior (front & sides), with plastic trims as needed
  • Evaporator:
    • Nickel‑plated copper ice plate/evaporator (for cube units), or
    • Stainless drum/evaporator (for flake/nugget)
  • Ice bin interior: Food‑grade plastic (ABS/PE) or stainless steel
  • Insulation: Polyurethane foam for bin and cabinet
  • Access: Front/service panels removable for maintenance

8. Dimensions & Weight (typical ranges)

For a modular head rated ~500 kg/24 h (without bin):

  • Width: ~760–1,200 mm
  • Depth: ~600–800 mm
  • Height: ~600–900 mm
  • Weight: approx. 90–200 kg

With a matching storage bin (e.g., 200 kg):

  • Total height typically 1,500–1,800 mm
  • Bin width/depth similar or slightly larger than head
  • Combined weight easily 150–300 kg

9. Features & Safety

  • Fully automatic operation: ice production stops when bin is full, restarts as level drops
  • Compressor overload and high‑pressure protection
  • Low‑water protection (machine stops if no water)
  • Corrosion‑resistant components
  • Air filter on air‑cooled models (often removable for cleaning)
  • Some models add:
    • Self‑cleaning / descaling cycle
    • Diagnostic codes on digital display

10. Example short spec line (for RFQs)

500 kg/24 h commercial ice maker (cube/flake/nugget – specify), modular air‑cooled head with separate storage bin (~200 kg), stainless steel exterior, R404A/R290 refrigerant, 380–415 V 3‑phase, total power input approx. 3–4 kW, automatic bin‑full shutoff, water inlet ½”, gravity drain ¾”.
